The 2014 CD Show Delivers Networking, Education, and Excitement (Published 12/2014)

CD 1214 Show Review Atlantic CityIt was a fitting farewell to the Trump Taj Mahal this past November as we arrived for the final Chauffeur Driven Show to be held in the New Jersey shore town—next October, the show debuts in Miami Beach. With nearly 100 exhibitors, dozens of sponsors, and over 1,700 attendees from all around the world, the show was the shot of adrenaline that the industry needed to continue the strong growth streak we’ve been experiencing for the past few years. A special thank you to our Title Sponsors, The Lincoln Motor Company and Don Brown Bus Sales.

After our successful first show last year, we went to work making some minor tweaks to our most popular events, improving others, and ensuring the maximum return on investment in all areas. One of the places where we expanded opportunities was with building affiliate relationships, including a seminar dedicated to the topic as well as through two highly attended events: The more casual atmosphere of the International Meet and Greet (sponsored by Global Alliance Worldwide, Icona Global, and Modern Car Worldwide) and the structured Affiliate Central Networking Forum (sponsored by A1A Airport & Limousine Service). The International Meet and Greet was attended by over 200 people from nearly two dozen countries—not bad for an early-morning event. Affiliate Central was even busier with 40+ exhibitors, a quarter of whom were from all over the globe. In fact, all of the events of Affiliate Tuesday were crafted around becoming a better affiliate partner. It was clear that attendees were happy with the changes—and they let us know. Later in the day, both Music Express Worldwide and EmpireCLS Worldwide held their annual affiliate meetings at the show, and both rooms were packed solid.

Chauffeur Driven Knocks It Out of the Park for Its AC Finale (Published 11/2014)

Atlantic City, N.J. — It was a fitting farewell to the Trump Taj Mahal this past November 2-5 as the 2014 Chauffeur Driven Show arrived for its final show in the New Jersey shore town before moving to Miami Beach in 2015. With nearly 100 exhibitors, dozens of sponsors, and 1,750 attendees from all around the world, this show exceeded all of our expectations, and we appreciate your support and attendance that helped make our show such a major success. A special thank you to our Title Sponsors, The Lincoln Motor Company and Don Brown Bus Sales.

Attendees took advantage of the diverse networking and educational opportunities, including in-depth and interactive workshops that went beyond the traditional classroom-style learning and were focused on timely topics like capturing more bus and motorcoach work and automating your business for greater efficiency. The workshops also featured the results of one of the first-ever salary surveys so that operators could have a benchmark against which to measure employee compensation packages. Many thanks to our Education Coordinator and Education Committee Chair Jason Sharenow of Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide for moderating the sessions.

The industry’s only Operator Mentoring Program, which debuted last year, was once again a popular favorite as 15 leaders both offered advice to and led discussions with their small groups. Operators were also empowered by the lively State of the Industry Address—delivered by Cheryl Berkman of Music Express, David Seelinger of EmpireCLS, and Dean De Beer of Tristar Worldwide...

2014 Toronto Canadian Limo Summit

Canadian Limo Summit Successfully Mixes Big Ambitions with Small Setting (Published 08/2014)

Toronto — The Canadian Limo Summit, the first-ever partnership between the Ontario Limousine Owners Association (OLOA) and Chauffeur Driven, proved that it found the winning combination of interactive educational sessions, a showroom filled with exhibitors, and a whole lot of networking opportunities.

The Aug. 10-11 event brought 150 attendees from all walks of the chauffeured ground transportation industry together at the InterContinental Toronto Centre, making for an intimate affair that facilitated new relationships and brought together familiar faces.

CD0814 Canadian Limo Summit “I liked the smaller gathering because, as an affiliate manager, I’m there to network and get to know people,” says Perry Barin, the West Coast affiliate manager for Music Express. “I was able to meet everybody one on one with 150 people, as opposed to a large-scale event where it’s hard to talk to everybody.”

The event was bookended by two friendly gatherings—an opening night reception sponsored by MV-1 Canada and a Grech Motors-sponsored scenic cruise on Lake Ontario aboard the Capt. Matthew Flinders—and packed three workshops brimming over with information between the two festive functions.

Following a breakfast sponsored by Battisti Customs and Macnab Transit Sales was the first of the day’s sessions, “Customer Retention: Keeping Clients Engaged and Loyal by Exceeding Expectations,” co-presented by Kyara Kahakauwila of LA Limousines and Mike Zappone of All Transportation Network. Kristen Carroll of Grace Limousine and The LMC Group then took to the podium to discuss “Employee Motivation & Retention: Creating a Happy and Healthy Environment that Increases Productivity.” Jason Sharenow of Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide served as moderator for all three of the day’s workshops ...
